Inspector Gadget
TITLE: Inspector Gadget
COMPOSERS: Haim Saban, Shuki Levy
ORIGINALLY RELEASED: 1982
THE ORIGINAL VERSION:
The Inspector Gadget theme was originally brought to life with synthesizers and other electronic sounds characteristic of the 1980s. The main theme is a repetitive and playful melody that dances over an energetic groove. The theme includes that classic chorus of voices singing "Inspector Gadget" and the iconic "hoo-hoo" at key moments. The song is adventurous, fun, instantly recognizable, and sets the tone for the cartoon's lighthearted and action-packed adventures.
THE SYMPHONY NOSTALGIQUE VERSION:
Inspector Gadget has got to be one of the most unique and intriguing characters of all time. He is a marvel of modern technology with a gadget for every possible need, and yet he is unaware of the danger he is almost always in (and is likely causing). I wanted to try to capture this essence when I began orchestrating this theme. I thought a lot about Danny Elfman’s work in the early stages, and I thought would be fun to dial in a little bit of that eccentricity in this version.
